cloud nine

Have you ever stopped to watch the clouds move across the sky? Well, I did today. And it was really cool to watch. They move so slow that you can't move at all in order to actually see them move. It's almost like time stops. It would be cool to stop time during some of the best moments of my life and just revel in the moment for a while. And then when I'm finished...

...time starts again. I know that so many times in my life I've told myself, "Stop...and just enjoy the moment, because you'll look back later on and wish you could relive it." But it never seems to work.

Here's an example. Every year my family goes camping, and it's one of my favourite times of the year, because it's just me and my family, and a whole week to do absolutely nothing but spend time with them. Every so often during that week I tell myself to just stop and enjoy it...breathe it all in, so that I can experience the same thing again once I'm back home. No matter how many times I try, I never get the same effect I was hoping for. It all just ends up as memories, which of course isn't a bad thing.

"God gave us memories that we might have roses in December." ~J.M. Barrie

but if you stop, then you're not involved in the moment. and that's less fun, and less memorable. all though i have to admit, their are some days i wish i could go back to, and live exactly as they were over and over again.

I get a nice little private moment to myself every morning at the bus stop. Usually the weather is just right, and I can see the sun rise about an inch just above some trees (from my perspective).

In this time I also usually get to check out all the cool cloud formations and stuff too.

funny you say time stops when you look at the clouds because usually clouds moving by symbolizes time passing.(or at least it does in movies) but i know what you mean still. its best when you look up at a church steeple or a tall building and the clouds are moving and the building looks like its going to fall on you.

hahahah rely on tara to make this weird..."the building looks like it's gonna fall on you"

silly rata tricks are for kids!

i have that... where i'm in a moment and i want to revel in it... so i just smile and breathe in and out and try to remember it. try to embrace it for what it's worth. you can't fully though. it just doesn't work. c'est la vie.

watching clouds... i have done that a bit i think. not summer anymore though... so i don't know when the next time i will, otherwise i'd try it now.

pictures are good though... pictures are amazing for bringing the memories back... and videos from the video camera. ahh good things.

lovely post lanar.

I agree with john. Oh and yes the small amount of time, during the crack of dawn, and right as the sun sets are spectacular moments. The best moments you'll get in suburbia. My favorite is still seeing crazy amount of stars. Tara knows what I'm talking about (though I am not saying she shares my sentements, I do not know if she does)
